Overview

Focus Demolition played a crucial role in the historic transformation of Victoria Quay’s A Shed in Fremantle. As part of the ambitious redevelopment project to turn the 100-year-old building into a vibrant micro-brewery, eatery, and café operated by Gage Roads Brewing Company, our team was tasked with the critical job of asbestos roof removal and replacement.

This project presented unique challenges due to the building’s heritage status and its prominent location in the bustling port area. Our expertise in handling hazardous materials in sensitive environments was essential to ensuring the safe and efficient removal of the asbestos roofing, paving the way for the structure’s exciting new chapter as a world-class tourist destination.

Results

Working closely with the developers and heritage consultants, we carefully removed the asbestos-containing materials and installed a new roof that respected the building’s historical significance while meeting modern safety and environmental standards. This delicate balance of preservation and progress exemplifies Focus Demolition’s commitment to contributing to Western Australia’s evolving urban landscape.
